KOUICHIROU ETO


Born in 1971, Kouichirou Eto graduated from Keio University graduate school of Media and Governance. In his relatively short career he has compiled a long list of accomplishments in new media and Internet projects.

Even before Eto had graduated from college, he had many impressive accomplishments. Eto created "JoyMechFight"(1993) for Nintendo in his freshman year.As a junior in college he joined Fujihata Lab for computer arts research.

He released "RealPanopticon"(1995) at IC'95 "on the Web - The Museum Inside The Network -". at the InterCommunicationCenter in Tokyo, Japan.

He was involved in directing and producing "WebHopper"(1996) for "sensorium" Internet project. The"sensorium" project was awarded the Golden Nica Award of the 1997 Prix Ars Electronica. net field.

In 1997 he unveiled "WebHopper @ AEC" at the Ars Electronica Festival. After its initial display, the work was stored as part of the Ars Electronica Center's permanent collection.
He released "RemotePiano"(1996,1997) in the concert "MPIXIPM" by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Toshio Iwai. At the same time, he released "RemotePiano installation" with Ryuichi Sakamoto and Toshio Iwai at the InterCommunicationCenter.
His other works include "PeepHole"(1993) and "DotPaint"(1995). He is now searcher of the International Media Research Foundation.
